I Love the Smurfs!

Yes, I got Season 1 of the Smurfs this past week with my Future Shop gift certificate from my dear brothers at Christmas (along with a digital camera... yeah, they spoil me!) and I love it as much as I remembered! The kids are all addicted now too. I love how they replace half the nouns and verbs with the word smurf... and I love the classical music... and I love Smurfette trying to choose between a dozen dresses that all look exactly alike... classic. We will all be happily smurfing for weeks to come!

So, do you think it's worth getting for Ella??? (You know, I've actually checked for it over the years, wondering if it would ever come out on DVD... Smurfs, Young Catherine, and Ally McBeal... WHY OH WHY don't they put out Young Catherine and Ally McBeal!!!???)

I LOVED Ally McBeal!!!

I know... imagine the Ally Mc-thons we could have! Reliving the magic, the mayhem... they were all so endearingly nuts... oh, I'm getting nostalgic...

I loved Ally McBeal too! But I missed a lot, I watched while I was pregnant, but after that what with Hailee being really little the last few seasons, I REALLY missed a ton, always too busy with baby stuff to watch tv! They SO should put it out on dvd so we can have Ally Mc-Thons! (love that by the way!) Well, we'll have to settle for Grey's Annatomy, it reminds me of Ally a LOT!

Krista, you don't mean to tell me you missed when Jon Bon Jovi was Ally's boyfriend? Now, you're REALLY kicking yourself for missing out! I always preferred Robert Downey Jr though... why did he have to go get himself arrested in real life so he couldn't be on the show anymore? Boo hoo hoo! (That's when they brought Jon Bon Jovi in.)

Jon Bon Jovi... DROOL!!! ....huh-what? Oh, sorry... drifted off there! Ya, missed it all... pooh. Not much of a Robert Downey fan... he's kind of weird... but I've always had a soft spot for JBJ, for SO many reasons! Amazingly talented man!

I did love Larry Paul (Robert Downey Jr.), but my all-time favourite Ally-significant-other (besides John Cage/Peter MacNicol - he's in a class by himself) was Dr. Greg Butters/Jesse L. Martin. *Sigh* Oh, if only Law & Order hadn't happened!

Interesting factoid (taken from IMDB): In an effort to boost ratings, Robert Downey Jr. was hired to play Ally's love interest at the start of season four. The ratings increased and David E. Kelley began planning to have that season end with the wedding between Ally and Robert Downey Jr.'s character. However, before production on the season finale could begin, Downey was arrested on a drug-related charge. Despite objections from David E. Kelley, Fox fired Downey from the show and forced Kelley to have to rewrite a brand new season finale episode that removed Larry Paul character from the series and rewrite and re-shoot a new ending to the previous episode so as to remove all references to the aborted wedding storyline. Ironically, the episode's title remained "The Wedding".

So, Janis, all your dreams were supposed to come true!

Why are my dreams always thwarted?! Haha! Jesse Martin didn't really do anything for me... I just loved Robert Downey Jr's character... I thought he was perfect for Ally. I never knew they almost got married... now I'm even madder at him for getting arrested - stupid drugs!

Seriously??? Jesse Martin doesn't do ANYTHING for you??? I thought that you loved him!!??? I mean, you squeeled enough when he came on screen when we used to watch Ally!!!??? Were those fake screams? Have your tastes changed so much? And WHY on EARTH would ANYONE prefer Rob.D.J. over Jesse??? Confirms it! You're a total freak!

Neither Jesse nor his character did anything for me... I think you were transferring your squeals onto me. Not really a RDJ fan, but I loved his character on Ally... we really need to hang out more often... if only those five other provinces weren't in the way!
